News and Notes From This Week's Bulletin - Sunday, June 1, 2008

Rite Of Confirmation: This morning three of our youth will publicly confess their faith in God and especially Jesus Christ as their Savior in the Rite of Confirmation. The three youth and their confirmation verses are as follows:

> Tyler Hendrix Gallmann Bennett – Psalm 55:22
> Lauren Victoria Bledsoe – St. Matthew 6:33
> Rachel Elizabeth Fahs – Acts 16:31

We praise God that He has increased their knowledge and strengthened their faith through their study of the basics of His Word. It is our sincere prayer that they will regularly and faithfully attend worship, hear, read, and study God’s Word, and partake of Holy Communion so that by the work of the Holy Spirit they will continue to mature in the Christian faith and life.

Mission Festival! Come and be blessed.

This Sunday, May 18, we are going to have a Mission Festival Worship Service. The service centers on Missions. The service will include a short sermon based upon the Scripture and the Lord’s Supper. Sheba will then share with us her work and how God works through the proclamation of the Gospel to bring people to saving faith in Jesus. After the service, we will have the opportunity to view slides which show her mission work. I know it will be very interesting. More importantly, God, through His Word and Sacrament, will strengthen our faith in Jesus as our Savior and how He works through the Gospel. Hope to see you there.
