News and Notes From This Week's Bulletin - Sunday, June 29, 2008

Parade Float: Help is needed for the Balloon Rally Float on Saturday, July 12th. Please see Kristen Crawford if you would like to help decorate, ride on the float, or walk along side.

Car Wash: Daycare will be holding a car wash on Saturday, July 19th in the TOPS parking lot. Shop at the sale and then get your car looking beautiful.

Allegany County Fair: Help is needed to “man” the booth. Please sign up on the sheet in the lounge.

Favorite Hymns: During the summer months Pastor would like to use some of your favorite hymns in our worship services. The use of the hymns will be based upon the service theme and whether or not we have the hymn’s music and words. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the church lounge. Please write the name of your favorite hymn(s) on that sheet.

Piano Classics By Carole Aldrich: Carole has recorded a beautiful CD on her Yamaha Baby Grand Piano. This wonderful CD can be purchased here at church for $10.00. All the proceeds will go to the Compassion Clement Mission run by Sheba Sunayana to be used towards the purchase of 4 acres of land for the children. Please see Betty Wood for more information.

Summer Bible Classes:
  1. Sunday Adult Class: This class will continue to meet every Sunday during June, July, and August. The class meets at 9:00AM in the Dorcas Room. Our study will focus on what Lutherans believe concerning “The Means of Grace” which is the Holy Scriptures and the Sacraments of Holy Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

  2. Bible BBQ: This class will meet in the pavilion every Wednesday. (We will meet in the Fellowship Hall in the event of rain and/or cold.) We will eat from 5:30PM – 6:15PM. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks will be supplied. Participants are asked to bring a salad or dessert. A free will offering will be collected. The study will run from 6:15PM – 7:15PM. The topic of study is “Miracles of Jesus”.

Beef on Weck Fundraiser a Huge Success!

Thank you to all that helped out at our Beef on Weck fund raiser last Saturday. It was a huge success! We raised over $7,000 before Thrivent participating funds.

We pray these funds will truly bless the three beneficiaries.

The use of the hymns will be based upon the service theme and whether or not we have the hymn’s music and words. There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the church lounge. Please write the name of your favorite hymn(s) on that sheet.

Piano Classics By Carole Aldrich: Carole has recorded a beautiful CD on her Yamaha Baby Grand Piano. This wonderful CD can be purchased here at church for $10.00. BIBLE BAR-B-Q!

Great news! Our very popular Bible Bar-B-Q is starting up for the summer. There will be lots of eats together with a great time of fellowship and Bible study. The topic this summer is the Miracles of Jesus so look forward to some lively discussions.

The Bar-B-Q begins 5:30 pm this Wednesday the 18th and continues each Wednesday throughout the summer.

Come join the fun, you will not be sorry. All are welcome!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The pins being handed out today to our fathers were purchased by the Evangelism Committee.

Pastor Will Be On Vacation starting Thursday, June 19 through Wednesday, June 25th for his daughter’s wedding. In the event of an emergency, please contact the church office, Jim Helms or Barry Dunne.

News and Notes From This Week's Bulletin - Sunday, June 8, 2008

New Members - This morning we welcome into membership Roxanne (Anne) Jedraszczak and Gary and Laurie Sagerman. We thank God that they have become a part of our family of faith and we pray that they may continue to grow in the Christian faith and life through their fellowship with us.

Sacred Acts – Baptism: This morning Aubree Marie Monroe, daughter of Matthew Monroe and Jamie Smith, will become a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. Her God parents are Terry Monroe and Jolene Green. We praise God for His gift of forgiveness, life and salvation given to Aubree and we pray that as she grows in years she will be brought up in the Lord and continually use the means of grace so that she may grow and remain steadfast in the Christian faith and obtain everlasting life with God in heaven.

Sacred Acts – Baptism: This morning Jamie Smith will confess her faith in God and in Christ as her Savior through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. We praise God for the forgiveness of sins and new life in Christ He gives Jamie through Baptism. We pray that she remain steadfast in the Christian faith and obtain everlasting life with God in heaven.

Piano Recital: Piano students of Carole Aldrich will present their recital TODAY, Sunday, June 8 at 3:00PM at Trinity. A reception will follow. Come and enjoy a relaxing time as 1st through 11th grades perform for you.
