News and Notes for Sunday, October 31, 2010

Altar Guild help is needed. Altar Guild is a ministry of God’s people whereby we take care of the Communion ware, Paraments, and Sanctuary on a weekly basis. It is a service to help maintain the beauty of our church in order to awaken the response of God’s people in all forms of beauty, care, and reverence. 1 Cor. 14:40 reminds us by saying, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Please consider be part of this service. It usually means serving 4 Sundays’ a year and 2 meetings per year. If you are interested, please talk with Betty Wood or June Helmer.

Church Ornaments are for sale from any Ladies Aid member or the church office. Price is $10 each. Thanks for your support!

Clarification on Thrivent Choice Dollars and who can vote: In order to be eligible to direct funds to a church or organization that has been registered with Thrivent, an individual has to have paid $800 or more in annual premiums; have a policy with a cash value of $20,000 or more or a settlement option. Mutual funds are not included. If you are eligible, you will receive a letter and it will tell you how much money you have to direct. Voting continues until March of 2011. If you have any questions, please contact Betty Wood.

Hearts & Hands: The congregation is asked for “gently used”, “new” or “regiftable” items for the Chinese Auction baskets. We will put baskets together at 1pm on Oct. 11. Everyone welcome to help!

Help Support Your Congregation and Daycare through THRIVENT CHOICE. If you own a Thrivent product (life insurance, annuity, etc). you should have received a letter from Thrivent informing you of the amount you can give to benefit the congregation or Daycare. Please take time to read it over, then vote. Thrivent Choice replaces “Care in the Congregation” and in order for us to have money to benefit our congregation or Daycare, we need your vote. Any questions, see Betty Wood or Marge Vossler.
