News and Notes for Sunday September 25, 2011

Hands And Harvest Craft Sale – Are you a handcrafter? How about a friend or family? Our sale will be Saturday, October 15th, 10AM to 3PM. We need vendors!! Tables are available for $15 for the day. Posters are available on the table in the lounge. Take one to hang and help us get the word out!! Rent a table, attend the sale with a friend. Come for lunch. Come for the Chinese Auction. Proceeds will go to the Wounded Warriors Project and to Operation Christmas Child. See Shelly or Karalee for information.

The Hearts and Harvest Craft Festival again offers to re-gift your unused items for the Chinese Auction. We need fill, filler and fillers: gift items, hostess gifts, holiday items, shred, tissue, straw, ribbons, pinecones and people. People who love volunteering with other people--they're the luckiest people in the world. There will be a collection box available under the table, and a sign-up sheet on the table, in the lounge, and if you have larger items--don't be afraid to think outside the basket, please contact Karalee, Shelly or Deb Kling.

News and Notes for Sunday September 11 , 2011

Christian Education Day: Saturday, September 10 at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 11 at 10:30am. The emphasis of the worship services these two days will be on the importance for individuals of all ages to learn and study God’s Word.

Christian Education Picnic: Following the service today there will be a church picnic in the Pavilion. The menu included hotdogs, hamburgers, snacks, and lemonade. A free will offering will be collected. There will be games for the children. Please Come!

Quarterly Congregational Meeting: Our next regular congregational meeting will be today after the picnic. The meeting will be a quick update of congregational affairs.

News and Notes for Sunday September 4, 2011

Our Christian Education Programs Begin In September.

Christian Education Day: Saturday, September 10 at 7:30pm and Sunday, September 11 at 10:30am. The emphasis of the worship services these two days will be on the importance for individuals of all ages to learn and study God’s Word.

Confirmation Meeting: A meeting about our Confirmation Program will be held Monday, September 12 at 6:00pm in the church proper. Youth in Grades 5 and up as well as parents should attend.

Sunday School: Sunday School will begin on Sunday, September 18 at 9:00am. There are classes for children beginning at age 3 through and including High School.

Registration will be held on Sunday, September 11 after the worship service. There will be a table near the church lounge for registration. You may also register on Sunday, September 18 at 9:00am. Registration that day will be held in the hall by the parking lot entrance.

Here are some of our Christian Education Opportunities:
  • First Year Confirmation Class: This class will also begin on Sunday, September 18 at 9:00am. This class deals entirely with the Bible (Bible history, the Books of the Bible, how to read it, etc.), Chris Gallmann is the teacher.
  • Second Year Confirmation Class: This class, taught by Pastor Morris, will begin as well on Sunday, September 18. We will meet after the church service. We will be learning the different essential teachings of the Bible.
  • Sunday Adult Bible Class: As the name indicates, this class meets on Sundays at 9:00am. (Please note that there will be no class on Sunday, September 4th or 11th.) Our topic is “The Life of Jesus as written by Matthew.” Pastor Morris is the teacher.
  • Biible Breakfast: This class, taught by Pastor Morris, meets on Tuesdays. We have breakfast from 9:30am to 10:00am and then bible study from 10:00am to 11:00am. Our topic is the “Book of Exodus”. The first class will be Tuesday, September 20.
  • Coffee And The Word: Every Saturday beginning at 9:30am we have coffee, donuts, and open discussion concerning different Biblical topics. These topics are often brought up by the participants. The class is led by Dick Helms.
  • Women Of Excellence: This class meets every Thursday at 1:00pm. The class, taught by Betty Wood, deals with Biblical teachings concerning issues faced by women.

Help Needed For Church Picnic: We need some volunteers to help set-up a few tables around 9:00AM, bring food to pavilion, cook, and supervise games. Please volunteer. It will not be difficult work. Sign-up sheet is on the table in the church lounge.

Potluck Coffee Hour – Starting in September, the 4th Sunday of each month will be a “Potluck Sunday Coffee Hour”. Those of you wishing to help, please bring something to share for that day’s coffee hour. Thank you!
