Reaching Rural America For Christ: Our congregation will be hosting a LCMS Rural & Small Town Mission Workshop on Saturday, September 28 from 8 to 3 here at our church. Many of our congregations are concerned about shrinking membership and fewer children and families in worship. There is no “one size fits all” solution. However through this event, congregational leaders will be encouraged as they see new opportunities for engaging their communities and filled with hope for the future. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. There is NO cost for members of our congregation to attend. Pre-registration is required. A signup sheet will be available in the lounge on the table.

In the late 70’s Trinity sponsored a Laotian family of six to come to Wellsville. Many people in the congregation including my mother Joan Collins, were instrumental in the resettlement. Bounmey Sengdara was the father, a very work oriented man. Bounmey passed away after a long illness on Aug. 3, 2013. Blessings to his family & friends. – Debbie Gerdes.

News and Notes for Sunday August 4, 2013

VBS is just around the corner. It begins Monday, August 12 and ends on Friday, August 16. In order to be prepared for the start of VBS, your help is desperately needed for the following:
  1. People to lend us artificial Christmas trees. (It is ok to bring in trees with lights on them. However, please no other decorations.) You are asked to put your name on the bottom of the tree so we can return it to you after VBS.
  2. Monetary donations to help cover the expenses of the light supper, snacks, and juice that we serve to each child every night. You may place your donation in the can which is labeled on the table in the church lounge.
  3. Spread the word about our VBS to the children in your neighborhood. Invite them to attend.
  4. Last, but certainly not least, Pray for God’s Spirit to give us guidance, wisdom, and the words to teach the Gospel clearly. Also ask that His word will bear fruit.
