News and Notes for Sunday, November 4, 2012

Sacred Acts – Baptism: This morning through the water and the Word of the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, God will declare Everett Porter Hanks and Abigail Helen Dassero as His very own children whom He dearly loves and with whom He is well pleased. Everett’s parents are Allan and Karey (nee Barney) Hanks. His God parents are James Mason (Brian Dassero is standing in for James) and Janette Hanks–Dassero. Abigail’s parents are Brain Dassero and Janette Hanks–Dassero. Her Godparents are Allan and Karey Hanks. We give praise to God for giving Everett and Abigail the new birth of life with God. We sincerely pray that as they grow in years, they will be brought up in the Lord and be brought to the Lord’s House so that through God’s Word and Sacraments they will grow in the Christian faith and remain steadfast in that faith all the days of their lives and obtain life eternal in heaven.

Sacred Acts – Baptism: Yesterday, October 27th at the 7:30 PM Saturday Service, Allison Ann Fanton, daughter of Darren Louis Fanton and Carol Ann (nee Stevens) Fanton, was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Through her baptism God has declared Allison to be His child whom He dearly loves and is well blessed. Her Godparents are Walter Embser and Doreen Fanton. We praise God for Allison’s baptism and the blessings He has bestowed upon her through it. We pray that as she grows in years she will hear, read, and study God’s Word, especially the glorious Gospel at home and the Church in order that the seed of saving faith in Jesus which has been planted will grow, she will remain steadfast in the faith that Jesus is her Savior all the days of her life, and she will inherit eternal life.

October 20th--save the date! The Hearts and Hands craft sale and Chatterbox Cafe provide a wealth of opportunities. If you'd like to be part of the merry crew that makes it happen, you can help direct vendors during set-up, be a runner, sell Chinese Auction tickets, feed and care for our guests in the cafe or help clean up the aftermath of a good time had by all. Another way, possibly the most popular way, to help is to round up some friends and attend the sale and have a great lunch. As always, sign-up sheets are in the lobby and you can call Karalee Morris, Shelly Dunne or Deb Kling with questions you may have. No matter what form of participation you choose, we'll be happy to have you with us.
