News and Notes for Sunday January 9, 2011

The Evangelism Committee will be collecting small items to send to the Helms’ boys to distribute to their service buddies. Could you contribute a small item or two to make lives a bit better for these people who are defending our country? We will package them up and have boxes on the way by the end of January. Some ideas (direct from Jim Helms) are:
Instant Soups | Rice Or Noodle Dishes |Canned Foods-Tuna | Drink Mixes | Magazines | Books | Dvds | Newspapers | Travel Games | Cards |Pens |Pencils | Paper | Gum | Energy Bars | Candy (Non-Perishable) | International Calling | Cards | Batteries | Coffee | Mouthwash | Slim Jims | Jerky | Starter Planters For Seeds | Tomato Seeds
Tomato seeds, starter planters?-yes, Jim is starting a garden and is planting a lawn in front of the office area with grass seed that Dena sent him. Does that really surprise anyone?? Please bring your items to church and we will do the rest!

Building Use – Our church facility is available for members/nonmembers use. However, we ask that you please submit a building use form to the properties board for prior approval. This form may be obtained at the church office. This will eliminate problems of someone using the church when it has already been reserved by another member. This also applies to the use of the older tables and chairs which also must be reserved at the church office. Church groups who normally don’t fill out a building use form – please, you still need to clear your special activity date with properties chairman and the church secretary to avoid conflicts on the church calendar. The Properties Board appreciates your cooperation on this matter. Thank you.
