Lloyd E Taylor (1914 - 2008)

WELLSVILLE - Lloyd E. Taylor, 93, of 66 Crescent Drive, died Tuesday (Feb. 19, 2008) in Jones Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.He was born May 26, 1914, in Scio, the son of Ernest and Grace Taylor.

On Aug. 23, 1941, in Wellsville, he was married to Beatrice Kruger, who died March 29, 2006.

He was a graduate of the Allentown Union School and had served with the U.S. Army in WWII in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1946. He had obtained the rank of staff sergeant.

He was retired from the Ebenezer Oil Co. and later from the custodial staff at Wellsville Central School.

He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wellsville, the Wellsville Legion Post No. 702 and the Duke Hose Co. for over 50 years.

Surviving are sisters-in-law, Mary (Donald “Red”) Burdick of Bradenton, Fla. and Edna Miller of Sarasota, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Carl (Mary) Kruger of Wellsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Beatrice; and a brother, Wilfred Taylor.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Wellsville, at which time services will be held, with Pastor Robert Morris officiating, followed by full military services conducted by members of the Wellsville Legion Post No. 702. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellsville.
