News and Notes From This Week's Bulletin - Sunday, April 20th 2008

Following Next Sunday’S Worship Service on April 27, Pastor Larry Gerdes, (former DCE of Trinity), will be the guest of honor for a retirement luncheon following worship. Meat & beverages will be provided. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass (salad or dessert). Pastor Gerdes will also be participating during worship.

The Evangelism Committee is looking for individuals who would be willing to serve as a “Shepherd”. If you are interested, please sign up on the sheet on the table in the lounge. When you sign up, it only indicates that you are interested, but does not commit you. When we have a small group, we will hold an informational meeting to explain what this would involve. Please pray about becoming a Shepherd. Contact Janet Carlin or Betty Wood if you have any questions.

Greeters Needed! If you would like to be a greeter for Sunday mornings, please add your name to the Greeter sign up sheet in the lounge. We would like to have at least 2 greeters every Sunday. Once we have an idea of how many are interested, we will put together a schedule. How important it is to make people feel welcome and at ease. Please pray about being part of this ministry. Any questions, please contact Janet Carlin or Betty Wood.

Spring Cleaning Time! Now is the time to start cleaning out those unused items in good condition that you would like to donate to the flea market to be held Saturday, June 14th in Gargoyle Park in Olean. This will be part of a huge fundraiser for Sheba and the children. The event will include food, music, games, and much, much, more. Please bring your items to church beginning June 1st and plan on attending the event in June. No Clothing Or Shoes, please. Any questions please see Shelly Dunne, Karalee Morris, or Betty Wood. Thank you!

Save The Date Saturday June 21, there will be a major fund raiser supplemented by Thrivent Financial at our church. We are hosting the event to help with the medical and financial needs of three people – Heidi Campbell, Rochester; Logan Culver, Scio and Bill Wonderling, Wellsville. There will be a Beef-on-Weck take-out dinner, silent auction and Music in the Pavilion. We will need lots of help!!

The Silent Auction is in need of items – hand made, gift certificates, baskets, etc – for the people to bid on. If you would like to donate, please contact Janet Carlin or Betty Wood. More details to follow.
